What are HTML viruses? |
|
Also known as active content attacks or browser attacks, HTML attacks are aimed at those who use web browsers or HTML-enabled email clients to read their mail. Such attacks tend to use the scripting features of HTML, or of the email client, to illicitly execute code on the PC, or to acquire private information from the recipient's computer. These viruses do not require user intervention in order to be activated. |

How do your anti-spam and anti-virus solutions work? |
|
Our anti-spam and anti-virus solutions are at the server level. Incoming messages going to your email server first pass through our server. They are subsequently scanned using a multi-layered filtering process, which eliminates 98% of spam and viruses. The "clean" messages are then delivered to your email server. Our solutions are very quick and do not delay your reception of e-mail because your messages are filtered as they come in and simultaneously delivered to you. You will not install any anti-spam programs on your company workstations.
You will not lose any time and money setting up hardware and installing software. You will not spend any time maintaining anti-spam and anti-virus solutions.
WE WILL DO ALL THE WORK!

What is an email header? |
|
The email header is the information that travels with every email, containing details about the sender, route and receiver. It is like a flight ticket: it can tell you who booked it (who sent the email), the departure information (when the email was sent), the route (from where it was sent and how did it arrive to you) and arrival details (who is the receiver and when it was received). As when you would book a flight ticket with a false identity, the same goes for emails: the sender can partially fake these details, pretending that the email was sent from a different account (common practice for spammers or viruses). |

Our Business has 100 email accounts but we only need 25 of those accounts to be protected from spam. Is that possible? |
|
Definitely. After signing up with Webservio, you will provide us with your administrative user. Your admin will take charge of the email addresses that need to be included in the anti-spam coverage. All messages sent to the unprotected email accounts will not be affected by our SpamWeeder service. You may increase your number of users at any time by contacting sales@webservio.com. |
|
|
Will there be any delay in message delivery if all emails would go through your server first? |
|
We recommend delivering emails through our Email Defense Solution, which is our MX Backup (aka Mail Bagging, MX Fail Over) services along with either of our anti-spam/virus (Postini OR SpamWeeder) solutions. When your primary mail server is available, your emails should only route through our servers first if you use our Postini OR SpamWeeder solutions for continuous filtering. These solutions will not cause a delay in message delivery. Otherwise, we do not recommend using the failover server backup MX record as your highest priority. |

Why do I receive spam on my Blackberry? |
|
When you setup your Blackberry to receive emails for an account protected by SpamWeeder, you were simply forwarding emails from your SpamWeeder protected email account to the Blackberry email account provided by your Blackberry service provider. This means you receive email for two (2) accounts on your Blackberry: emails sent to your SpamWeeder protected account and emails (spams) sent directly to your Blackberry service provider hosted account. |

I am using Webservio's SpamWeeder service, but I am continuing to receive large amounts of spam. Why is this happening? |
|
Webservio's SpamWeeder service is extremely effective against spam using several techniques. However, some spam will trickle into your email. If you are receiving a lot of spam, then there are a few reasons why this could be happening:
a) Please check to see if you only have the MX records as provided by Webservio. Having additional MX records can be a backdoor for spammers to send spam to your email. Create a support ticket at:
support.webservio.net
If you are unsure what your MX records should be. b) Spammers often send email to users that do not exist. Please check the recipient(s) of
the spam messages. In order to evaluate
the problem in depth, please send the email header of one of the spam
messages to analyze@spamweeder.com . You can find more information on how to find the email header by clicking on this question: How do I view an email header ?. |
